This "Sand Lion, " made of finely sculpted crystal, reflects the strength and power of this majestic animal, considered the king of the savannah. Its name is a reference to the Sand River which crosses through the Savi Sand reserve in the heart of the Kruger National Park, attracting the most concentrated population of diverse wildlife in South Africa, including a dense population of Lions.

Kruger National Park is the largest animal reserve in South Africa. The result of careful craftsmanship, the Sand Lion is created using the rare & ancient "Pâte de Verre" technique, which dates back to 5,000 BC.

It involves melting many fragments of colored crystal within a mold, resulting in intense colors against a subtly shaded background.
